Japan Provides $385K Worth Of Relief Supplies

Government of Japan is providing Fiji with emergency relief supplies worth 19 million Japanese Yen (F$385K).

The relief supplies include tents, sleeping pads, plastic sheets and generators and it will be handed over to Fijian Government through Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA).

After necessary liaison with Fijian government authorities, JICA will deliver these relief items as early as possible.

In considering that the early restoration and recovery of the affected areas is important, the Government of Japan will continue to discuss with the Government of Fiji, its assistance for the restoration and recovery of Fiji including utilisation of grant aid of $300m Japanese Yen (Over F$567K).

The government and people of Japan convey their deepest sympathies to the people of Fiji for the loss of lives and the suffering caused by Tropical Cyclone Winston.
