The Telecom Fijiana will face yet another tough pool at the Atlanta 7s in April.

Fiji has been drawn with Australia, England and Colombia in Pool A.

Fiji Rugby Women’s coaching director Chris Cracknell is positive the team will be ready.

“It is once again a tough pool for us, Columbia are unknown and having beaten England and pushed Australia close in São Paulo, we should be confident playing them,” Cracknell said,

“However, both teams won’t want a repeat of those results so we really have plenty to work on. The girls will be working on their pace as feel we lacked that finishing speed when we made line breaks.”

Cracknell said all they can do was improve as he was happy with the current squad.

“We’re improving, that’s all I can ask for, if we keep on the upward curve we will be up there when it comes to Rio,” he said.

“I’m very happy with the squad I have, we have a few players that didn’t make the trip to Brazil which were close and I know they’ve been working hard.”

Cracknell expressed how proud he was of the players and how they managed to contain themselves and focus on the games despite what was happening back home.

“Everyone has been affected by Tropical Cyclone Winston, the impressive thing with the girls to me was their strength to pull together.”
