Vinod Patel Foundation have pledged $250,000 worth of corrugated roofing irons (Galvalume) and screws to support the relief fund following the severe destruction caused by Tropical Cyclone Winston.

The materials would be donated to the Prime Minister’s relief and rehabilitation fund.

The company will also donate $150,000 worth of building material to its cyclone affected employees.

Vinod Patel Group Director and Foundation trustee, Bachubhai Patel said: “In times of natural disasters, it is extremely important to work together.

“To assist the most vulnerable in our communities and today we are delighted to play a small part in rebuilding our beloved nation.”

“Vinod Patel Foundation is committed to assisting Fiji in its recovery and will proactively engage with the National Disaster Management Office to support their efforts to assist in communities in the wake of Tropical Cyclone Winston,” Mr Patel said.

He added that the Foundation and the entire Vinod Patel Group wished for a quick and safe recovery for all fellow citizens.

Managing Director for Brijlal and Company Limited, Champak Kapadia and Manager (South Pacific), Sanjay Kumar Ambasht, Resene Paints Limited was also present at the event.

Mr Kapadia pledged $25,000 with Mr Kumar pledging $10,000 for the Prime Minister’s relief and rehabilitation fund respectively.

Mr Patel thanked the Prime Minister for his presence during the donation ceremony and commended the efforts of those who are assisting with relief work.
