Nagigi Naag Mandir Helps

It is not about giving back to the community as a social responsibility, it is about helping those in need without expecting anything in return.
Those were the words of Nagigi Naag Mandir Committee manager Dhiren Chand.
Mr Chand, along with his committee members, packed $10,000 worth of food items and delivered it to victims of Tropical Cyclone Winston in Savusavu yesterday.
“Business groups such as Punja and Sons Limited, Carpenters Group, Bombay Trading and Fairdeal Earthmoving Contractors collectively helped in transporting 200 packs that we prepared,” Mr Chand said.
“Each pack worth $50 contained basic food items.
We have seen photos of devastation in Savusavu, Nabowalu, Bua and Taveuni and we are surely going to help the homeless as much as we can.
“I understand what it feels like to be without shelter and food,” he said.
“Although we are a small committee based in Labasa and what we have provided will last for few days, we are happy that at least we were able to help.
“I would like to urge other religious organisations in Macuata province to come forward to help the homeless in Bua and Taveuni.”
“We cannot imagine how they are surviving especially during the night, where they are sleeping and whether their children have food to eat or not,” he said.We should help without expecting anything in return from them.”
