Usamate To Rural Health Staff: Your Work Appreciated

The Minister for Health and Medical Services Jone Usamate paid a visit to health centres in various parts of Tailevu North last Friday.
He visited Korovou Hospital, Lodoni Health Centre, Nayavu Health Centre, Dawasamu Health Centre, Ratu Kadavulevu School and Queen Victoria School.
Mr Usamate took with him hygiene kits and basic food supplies for health facilities and their staff.
“I appreciate the hard work being done by you as you continue to serve our people. Keep up the good work,” he told the staff.
“Such bravery and strong commitment shown by our health staff is truly commendable and we remain committed to supporting our staff and health facilities.”
The Lodoni Health Centre and Dawasamu Health Centre had its roofs blown away during the cyclone. Within four days the buildings’ roofs were repaired and services returned to normal.
Emergency operation centres have been set up at various divisions in Northern Tailevu and have been reporting back to the Ministry.
Mr Usamate said the Ministry of Health will look after the needs of health staff affected by Cyclone Winston. He also said medical supplies, human resources, utilities, clinical and infrastructure are being looked into.
“We will work proactively to identify areas requiring immediate attention and to get the job done,” Mr Usamate said.
