Hindi radio in NZ raises relief funds for cyclone victims

A 30-hour marathon radio appeal by Auckland’s only Hindi FM radio, Humm FM to help raise funds for Cyclone Winston victims ended last Saturday.

The radio station announcers Vijay Varma, Dev Sachindra, Sandy Sekhon and Pooja Kumar started the appeal midday last Friday and all funds collected will be handed over to the Fiji Red Cross Society.

When contacted Fiji Red Cross Society national president, Cathy Wong said they were happy to partner with Humm FM and would appreciate any help from the people of New Zealand.

The cyclone had caused a great deal of devastation and devastation with many deaths and thousands of people without home, food and basic necessities.

The radio announcers said they were still collecting and counting the proceeds. Edited by Jonathan Bryce
