Secretary Kerry Conveys Condolences To Fijians
US Ambassador to Fiji Judith Cefkin and Fiji's Minister for Foreign Affairs earlier today.

The United States resident Ambassador to Fiji – Ambassador Judith B. Cefkin, this morning hand-delivered a letter of condolence from United States Secretary of State – John Forbes Kerry, addressed to Fiji’s Minister of Foreign Affairs –  Ratu Inoke Kubuabola.

Secretary Kerry expressed his sincere condolences to the families of those who perished during Cyclone Winston on behalf of all Americans.

Secretary Kerry also commended the Fijian government for its pre-storm preparations and stated that the American people were encouraged by the stories of heroism and fortitude displayed by Fijians in the aftermath of Cyclone Winston.

Ambassador Cefkin expressed similar sentiments as Secretary Kerry and assured Ratu Inoke of her country’s commitment to build a brighter future for Fiji.

Ambassador Cefkin quickly took to twitter to share with Mr Kerry her meeting with Ratu Inoke.
