Vessels owned by Patterson Brothers are in top shape and have resumed services as normal.

The MV Spirit of Harmony and MV Spirit of Altruism began normal operations just days after the deadly storm, Tropical Cyclone Winston, struck Fiji.

“Our ships are back and we have resumed our services since last week,” company financial controller Sanjay Prasad said.

Mr Prasad said despite severe damages caused by the wrath of TC Winston to the Nabouwalu jetty, it is now back in operation.

The prompt response by Government teams and the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) resulted in the repairs of the jetties.

Although temporary, Mr Prasad said the opening of the jetties would at least allow the travelling public to continue with their plans of crossing to Viti Levu and vice versa.

“We are now continuing servicing of our two main routes –Nabouwalu and Levuka.”

“The Spirit of Harmony and Spirit of Altruism were not damaged and we had taken all precautionary measures to ensure that the ships were not damaged during the cyclone,” he said.

Patterson Brothers provides shipping services from Natovi to Nabouwalu on Vanua Levu and Ovalau.
