Vocal Crowd Greet Our 7s Men

The Vodafone Fijian 7s team was greeted by a small but vocal Fijian crowd in Las Vegas early yesterday.

The crowd were chanting GO Fiji GO!! at the arrival lounge at the airport as the Ben Ryan coached side looked tired as expected but the Neon lights will brighten them up and looking forward to a good week.

The boys headed straight to the hotel had their dinner and rested before heading off to their first training session today at 9am (local time) followed by a pool session.

The side is adamant for a positive performance this weekend as they aim to win for all Fijians who were affected after the devastation of tropical cyclone Winston.

Fiji currently sits top of the series standings on point difference from South Africa and New Zealand with all accumulating 69 points from the first four rounds. We are the defending champions at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.

The series champions will be eager to keep their impressive run of 39 consecutive victories in pool matches going with Cape Town runners-up Argentina, France and Samoa standing in their way in Pool B at the USA round on March 4-6.

The experienced Fiji squad includes Vatemo Ravouvou, the leading point scorer in the 2015-16 series after four rounds, and Savenaca Rawaca, who is only three behind the leading try-scorer in South Africa’s Seabelo Senatla.
