Five per cent of bookings made for commercials by businesshouses with Fiji Broadcasting Corporation for the months of March and April will go towards the PM’s National Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation fund.

FBC chief executive officer Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said they had the biggest coverage of radio and television in the country.

He said it would be a win-win situation for businesshouses that advertised with them during this time of the year.

He said for businesshouses that advertised with them, five per cent of the cost would be given to the PM’s rehabilitation fund.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said apart from this FBC staff were also encouraged to sell their outstanding leave back to the company.

“The value of that leave will then be given to the PM’s rehabilitation fund as well.

“We have many staff members who have come forward and volunteered to sell their leave; some volunteered to sell up to five days of their leave,” he said.

“These initiatives are part of our effort to help put Fiji back on track after the effects of Cyclone Winston; this is a small part of what we want to do,” he said.
