The Fiji Red Cross Society has received donations of more than $450,000, and all names will be published by Red Cross as an acknowledgment.

There are 300 volunteers on the ground helping and assisting victims of Cyclone Winston.

They are on phase one where the Red Cross teams are providing immediate assistance and they will move on to phase two where they will revisit families to see how they were coping and what they need.

The Fiji Red Cross is working with Government and the National Disaster management Office (NDMO) to avoid replication of assistance and to cover everyone affected.

Auckland’s Hindi FM Radio, Humm 106.2FM donated $29,306.06 and are awaiting approval for more cheques to be cleared by the banks in New Zealand which will give a total of more then $30,000.
