58,000 Tonnes Relief

Government vessel, Vatulawa arrived at Savusavu Jetty in Vanua Levu at 5pm yesterday to deliver 58,000 tonnes of food ration.

Roko Tui Cakaudrove Filimone Naiqumu was present with Government officials from various departments.

Food rations included sacks of rice, flour, sugar, dhal and boxes of milk, cooking oil, tin fish and corn beef.

This same vessel off loaded 42,000 tonnes of food rations at Nabowalu Jetty for the Cyclone Winston victims in Bua.

“We thank the Government and Commissioner Northern Jovesa Vocea for sending food rations for immediate relief for victims.

“It will lift the spirit of many affected families,” Mr Naiqumu said.
