Fiji has won the bid to host the 2016 Oceania Championship in Suva at the Vodafone Arena on May 2-7.

A total of 10 countries are expected to participate in the Oceania which is the qualifiers to the Asian Championship.

“The resilience and fortitude displayed by the people of Fiji in the aftermath of Winston is to be commended and volleyball would like to help in the rebuilding process through sports,” said FVF President Elesi Ketedromo.

As Fiji bids to attract tourist back into the country Fiji Volleyball Federation seeks to redefine our International Image through our ability to host such tournament reassuring the world that Fiji is capable.

Ketedromo thanked Oceania Volleyball for bringing the game to Fiji and using the tournament as a means of showing support in rebuilding Fiji. Part of gate takings and revenue collected will be donated to charity from the Oceania Volleyball Family.
