It was only Ilaisa Noa Lauvanua’s second day yesterday at Adi Cakobau School and he was able to adjust himself in the school.

He is the only Queen Victoria School (QVS) student relocated to ACS so far. A second QVS student has yet to attend the ACS.

The extensive damage inflicted on QVS by Tropical Cyclone Winston forced Ilaisa to join ACS.

“I am happy to be part of ACS,” the Year 11 student said.

The 16-year-old said he felt comfortable being the only male student in his class.

“The hospitality of ACS is really good and the students are very friendly here,” he said.

“I enjoy the facilities provided by the school. Although I miss my QVS friends and my teachers but I am happy that our education is not affected.”

ACS principal Laisa Soko said: “The directive came from the Ministry of Education to accommodate students of QVS and RKS.

“We are happy to welcome them to our school,” she said.
