A team of senior Police officers yesterday visited Police families in the Western Division that were affected by Tropical Cyclone Winston.

Chief operations officer ACP Rusiate Tudravu, who led the team, offered relief packs and cash assistance to the Police officers and their families.

ACP Tudravu also reassured men on the ground of the continued support from the office of the Commissioner of Police.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to you and your families for carrying out your roles in this time of adversity that is currently being faced around the country.

“At a time when your family has been affected by the effects of TC Winston, your welfare is at stake and even tested yet you have withstood this by continuing to serve the public with your utmost best”, ACP Tudravu said.

He said the visit indicated the level of commitment and efforts on the ground.

The visit was the first of its kind after the devastation left by TC Winston with the Western Division being the first division to be visited and other divisions to follow in the coming weeks.

A total of 48 families have so far being financially assisted in the Western Division in the two days visit.
