The Telecom Fijian Warriors side will be doing their best to restore hope for all Fijians during the Pacific Rugby Challenge at the ANZ Stadium next week.

Vodafone Flying Fijians Assistant coach defence and skills Mosese Rauluni said he was impressed with the way the boys trained despite the effects of cyclone Winston during the past week.

“This is my first day with the boys and I’ve been very happy with the way they train, very energetic considering what happened in the country with the cyclone and devastation.”

Rauluni said the team would be doing their best to give the people something to look forward to in their games.

“We’ve made a pact that we are going to play well for our people and we are going to try and give them hope again.

“I thought majority of the group was very good. There was a lot of energy shown,” he added.

Rauluni said with his busy schedule with the boys, he hoped to visit his village in Gau while in the country.

“I hope so if I get enough time, this tournament at the moment is very compact, I know the team as a whole are going to visit some one of the cyclone hit areas.

“It’s quite tough to get there with the time restraints and how close the games are during the tournament so it depends if I get enough time but I know we will be praying for them, all the people in Fiji especially the hardest hit areas in the country,” Rauluni added.

The final team will be named today.    Edited by Anasilini Ratuva
