Robbery
A man charged with one count of aggravated robbery has been sentenced to 12 years imprisonment.
Jekesoni Vuli appeared before Justice Salesi Temo at the High Court in Suva yesterday.
Vuli and others used force on the victims in Nasinu and robbed them of some Apple electronics equipment and $1000 cash, all worth $31,350 in total on May 1, 2014.
While delivering his sentence yesterday, Justice Temo said aggravated robbery and home invasion were both serious offences.
Justice Temo said the accused and others had no regard for the family’s life when they entered the home and threatened them with crowbars and iron rods.
Vuli will be eligible for parole after 11 years.
