While most schools are aiming to qualify for the Coca-Cola Games in their respective zone competitions, Nabua Secondary School will be out to scout for new talents.

Assistant principal Tomasi Salusalu said the Suva Zone Two will be the platform where they can identify talents.

“Schools have their inter-house so that we can identify those who have the potential to compete among other schools,” Salusalu said.

“But taking part in the zone is a different story; we have big schools in our zone which is one of the toughest for us.

“So having these athletes take part in the zone is where we really see the extent of talent that our athletes have.

“They need to be challenged and while they may be good during the schools inter-house, the test to how good they really are will be at the zone.

“Due to the cyclone we have missed one week of training for our athletes, which is a minor hindrance but still we need to take such competitions seriously.

“The challenge now is to produce the best possible athletes as we can and to also put up a competition among the big schools such as Marist Brothers High School.”

Salusalu praised the good weather which allowed them to have their inter-house.

“We are grateful that the weather held itself up and allowed to have a successful inter-house and with what we have seen so far, I am confident we will pull through with some good talent this year to showcase.” Edited by Osea Bola
