A 22-year-old driver of Nakasi and a 29-year old passenger of Narere are now recovering at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital after the car they were traveling in veered of the road at Makoi, Nasinu yesterday afternoon.

The car was traveling from Suva towards Nausori.

The second passenger was treated for minor injuries and sent home.

It is alleged that the car was traveling at a high speed before the accident.

Police are again warning drivers to observe all road rules, especially driving within the specified zone speed limit.

The maximum speed limit between Suva and Nausori is 60km/hour.

Accidents would rarely happen if drivers travel within that specified speed limit.

Speeding and attitude are the main contributing factors to accidents on our roads.

“It is better to miss your flight, then losing your life in an accident like that.”

Lets join hands and make our road safe for every road users this weekend and for the rest of 2016.
