Rodan: Games Should Go On

Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) president Joseph Rodan Snr insisted that the Coca-Cola Games should go on as scheduled next month.
Due to the recent damages caused by Tropical Cyclone Winston two weeks ago, most students have to relocate to other schools.
However, Rodan said despite the destruction Cyclone Winston has caused, the quicker the country gets back to normalcy, the better it will be for everyone.
“I’ve seen the pictures of the schools that have been affected and it is just the buildings, not the grounds that were damaged,” Rodan said.
“That means these students still have somewhere to train and prepare for the Coke Games.
“I think the quicker we get back to normalcy the better it will be for everyone. And the longer we prolong this, the longer it is will take for the country to move past what has happened.
“We need to get back to normalcy as a country and the only way to do is to continue with what we have been doing.
“The sevens tournament is coming up and that is sure to put smiles on people’s faces and I believe the Coke Games can do the same provided is still goes ahead as scheduled.”
The Coca-Cola Games is scheduled to be held next month at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.
