Two Murder Accused Further Remanded
Sundar Kaur, 48, and Geeta Devi, 28, have been further remanded in custody after they appeared in the High Court in Lautoka yesterday. High Court judge Justice Aruna Aluthge has ordered the pair to reappear on March 14, for mention.
They are charged with one count of murder each. Devi is also charged with one count of providing false information to a public servant.
Kaur is alleged to have murdered her daughter Sanjani Lata, also known as Mona, in November.
The alleged incident happened at Kulukulu, Sigatoka. It is also alleged that Devi told a Police officer that Lata had been missing since noon of November 1, despite knowing the information was false.
The State filed and served a copy of the summary of facts for Count 1 (murder) and Count 3 (giving false information to a public servant.)
The Defence sought time to go through the summary of facts.
