A family living outside Rakiraki Town is contemplating on how they will rebuild their home.

This was after the remaining roofing iron and timber of their home, which was damaged by Tropical Cyclone Winston was allegedly stolen.

Dinesh Prasad, 46, a Pundit who runs a videography business, said the cyclone had damaged most of their belongings.

“After the cyclone, we came and collected all our roofing iron and timber and left it outside our home. We were planning to rebuild our home again with that equipment.

“This was unfortunate because it was stolen by a group of men,” Mr Prasad claimed.

He also claimed that their freezer and two video cameras were stolen from them a few days after the cyclone.

“These people have no sense of humanity and no heart for people like us who are suffering during this difficult time,” he said.

“We can’t do much at this time because everyone is suffering.”
