Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday hailed the Vodafone Fijian 7s team retaining their title in Las Vegas.

The Prime Minister while visiting the Ucunivanua District School praised the team for their gallant effort, bringing joy to the nation.

“The win has definitely brought big smiles to our fellow Fijians who have suffered from Cyclone Winston,” he said.

“It will definitely lift the morale of the victims around the country.”

He commended the team for playing their hearts out for the entire nation.

The Prime Minister had watched the game before travelling to Verata.

The PM was at Ucunivanua Village donating a tent and tarpaulins for the school.

Leaving his seat, Mr Bainimarama walked over and sat with the students who were seated in one of the temporary tents he brought them.

He asked the students of their immediate needs and the students replied that they needed a new library, library books and chairs. He assured them that they would get what they wanted.

He also urged the students to study hard so that they could earn a good job in the future.

The Prime Minister also told the school committee they would need to find their own carpenter and his office would supply the required materials. He said the teachers quarters would also be considered in the rebuilding stages.
