Westpac Grant To Assist Girls, Women Study

Westpac is once again encouraging women and girls to take a positive step towards fulfilling their potential and building a career of their own.

The 2016 Westpac Women and Girls Education Grants, which offer financial assistance to help with the cost of school or university, was launched the past night.

Westpac is offering a total of nine education grants in Fiji this year.

Westpac Fiji general manager, Brett Hooker, said: “We know that females who remain in education for longer have far better outcomes across many aspects of life; as do their children.

“When a girl or woman is educated it also has a positive affect right across her community – and entire countries benefit both socially and economically when female populations are given access to quality education.

“I strongly encourage women and girls from right around the country to apply for this financial assistance and to keep up their studies – it’s a big step towards achieving your life goals.”
