Government Recognises Tanoa Group Confidence

Government has recognised the Tanoa Group’s confidence and commitment in Fiji having been able to expand its operations not just in Fiji but the region.
Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Faiyaz Siddiq Koya, said: “Tanoa has set the pace for other Fijian companies in the tourism industry to do the same.”
He was speaking yesterday during Tanoa Group’s leadership meeting, whereby the senior managers of Tanoa came together to chart the way forward.
Mr Koya stressed leadership should be focused on extending the ladder of opportunity for Tanoa Group.
“Therefore, it is important that all senior managers act and operate in a coordinated and coherent manner for the betterment of the company,” he said.
“Whilst it is important for leaders to lead, it is equally important for leaders to listen. You need to be aware of the needs of the workers and to be aware of the customer trends, demands and expectations.
“Positive leadership creates a virtuous circle – people respond to a positive and inclusive organisation in a positive manner.”
Mr Koya stressed positive leadership and attitude are especially needed in this time of devastation.
“It is the positive attitude that has enabled tourism operators to come together to keep the tourism industry going after the cyclone – to show the world that Fiji is open for business.”
