In the first incident, a 15yr old girl of Korotogo, Sigatoka allegedly consumed ¼ cup of kerosene when her best friend left home and promised never to return. The incident took place early hours on Wednesday morning. The girl was rushed to Sigatoka Hospital and is admitted for further observation.

In the second incident,  a 24yr plumber of Navau, Ba allegedly drank about 200ml of Glycoside after a heated argument with his girlfriend’s family. The incident took place in the early hours of yesterday morning. The plumber was rushed to Ba Hospital and is admitted under stable condition.

In the third incident, a 35yr old Carpenter is also admitted at the Sigatoka Hospital after he accidentally kerosene which was in a bottle thinking it was juice. The incident occurred yesterday and the man was rushed to Sigatoka Hospital for medical examination.

We will continue to plead to members of the public to act responsibly and not to resort to such measures in trying to eradicate a problem. Investigations reveal that most of these cases of attempt suicide are caused from domestic dispute. There are always provisions for addressing issues through constructive dialogue.
