The Biosecurity Authority of Fiji (BAF) would like to advise the general public they have placed restrictions on the movements of cattle and calves.

The restrictions came into effect after BAF released the Declaration of Biosecurity Emergency Area for Bovine Tuberculosis on January 18, 2016.

The cattle and calves cannot be moved from farm to farm without approval from Biosecurity Authority of Fiji and Ministry of Agriculture’s Animal Health and Production Unit.

However, people intending to move cattle from farms to abattoir can do so with clearance and approval from the Biosecurity Authority of Fiji and Ministry of Agriculture.

All farmers and general public are advised to contact the nearest Agriculture Office or BAF Office for details on the Cattle Movement Application Form.

BAF advises farmers and general public to contact BAF for any further clarification on the above issue.
