FMF Foods Limited has poured an additional $25,000 towards the Tourism Action Group which has been activated in response to current cancellations and a rapid decline in forward reservations.

This is part of the food manufacturers ongoing support to agencies in relief and rebuilding efforts after Cyclone Winston.

FMF Foods managing director, Ram Bajekal took this pledge during a fundraising drive for TAG.

This was initiated by the Attorney-General and Minister for Tourism Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

The $25,000 cheque was presented to Fiji Airways managing director and chief executive officer Andre Viljoen by the FMF directors Ajai and Rohit Punja.

TAG is composed of Tourism Fiji, Fiji Airways, Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association (FHTA), Society of Fiji Travel Associates (SOFTA), Destination Management Operators and Hotel Owners.

Apart from this donation to TAG, FMF over the past few weeks also contributed in excess of $100,000 in the form of donations of ready-to-eat food products for cyclone victims.

This is through the National Disaster Management Office.

It has been supplying some of its regular food products at subsidised prices to agencies and organisations involved in relief work.
