More Rations Delivered North

Yesterday another Government vessel berthed at Savusavu Jetty in Vanua Levu with loads of food rations.

Northern divisional planning officer Alipate Bolalevu went to Savusavu yesterday after returning from Taveuni Island to check on the supply of food rations.

Mr Bolalevu confirmed that basic food items would be offloaded from the Government vessel.

“This will be the second Government vessel coming from Suva with food rations for the Tropical Cyclone Winston affected families in Cakaudrove province,” Mr Bolalevu said.

“The first Government vessel came from Suva last week and all affected families have received food rations.

“No families have been left out.

“As for Taveuni Island and Bua, all affected families and villagers have received food rations,” he said.

“I would like to thank the various business groups, non-government organisations and religious groups for reaching out to the affected families with food package and other kind assistance.

“Such assistance has been a great encouragement to the families initiating speedy recovery from aftermath of TC Winston.”
