Uprising Fiji,  aims to leverage its profile as an authentic wedding destination for its customers at the Fiji Wedding Expo (FWE).

Based in the Adventure Capital of Fiji, Pacific Harbour, Uprising has had a big focus on student and sports groups, dive groups, and the adventure market.

Now the resort wants to expand its reach in the wedding market and FWE is the ideal platform to get this message out.

Uprising Fiji’s General Manager, Mr James Pridgeon says “we have never marketed the resort as a wedding destination and we are hoping for more exposure across this market by participating at the Fiji Wedding Expo.”

“We want to change the perception of the market regarding Uprising and let potential customers know that we indeed do weddings and offer that authentic friendly Fijian touch.

The expo will also offer us the platform to engage with other industry partners in owrder to better position ourselves within Fiji’s wedding market,” he adds.

With Uprising’s small size – 24 rooms, a restaurant and beach bar, an absolute beachfront and one private wedding venue – the resort is able to offer exclusive resort usage to potential wedding parties at an affordable rate.

“This is a bonus to potential guests looking at large properties where they have to share facilities with other guests. At Uprising, they can have 100% exclusive use where they can book out our entire resort for less than $8,000.00 FJD!” he says.

“Our target audience is those looking for something a bit different where guests can fill their days surrounding the weddings with activities in Fiji’s Adventure Capital – offering that island experience with mainland convenience,” Mr Pridgeon adds.

The expo will be held at the Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort & Spa on 19-20 March. Consumers can attend the event for free and meet face-to-face with over 50 wedding service providers under one roof.
