$20K Boost PM’s Relief Funds

More funds keep pouring in to the Prime Minister Relief Funds to assist all Fijians.
This is after the Fantasy Island Managing Director Abbas Ali donated $20,000 towards the Prime Minister’s National Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund to assist those affected by Tropical Cyclone Winston.
“We are all very supportive of the Prime Minister’s effort to assist all these people who have been affected by the recent cyclone,” Mr Ali said.
“So far what we can see is that he has done a marvellous job at least to instil that hope in the people living in remote areas and islands who have seen the real devastation which was rightly described by some military personnel from overseas; it is worse than a war zone.”
Mr Ali said the efforts of the Prime Minister and the Government needed to be applauded to bring about such a big relief to people who could now recover to go back to their normal life.
“We as investors here always wanted to support the effort of the Prime Minister, he alone can’t do it,” Mr Ali said.
“We can see we have got lot of support from overseas governments and agencies. This is because of his initiative to spread that friendship all over the world.
“That is the reason why, this is the first government who has made it so quickly that relief supplies and governments have helped instantly as soon as he called for help.
“That shows we have got friends all over the world that encourages us as citizens of this country and investors in Fiji.”
Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho, on behalf of the Fijian Government, thanked Mr Ali.
“This is really a positive step like Mr Ali donated to Prime Ministers relief fund to help those who are very much in need of assistance,” Mr Qiliho said.
“There is more to do, in the re-construction phase that has to come that deals with their housing.”
