Australia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop arrived into the country yesterday to witness first-hand how Cyclone Winston devastated our island nation.

“I’m here to see the disaster relief disaster effort underway and hoping to meet a lot of the people here,” she said when she arrived at the Nausori airport.

Ms Bishop was welcomed at the airport by Fijian counterpart and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola.

They flew to Koro yesterday and were accompanied by the Minister for National Disaste, Inia Seruiratu.

Ms Bishop flies out of the country today.
