Teachers at Queen Victoria School should report to their new school today or face the boot.

The Minister for Education, Mahendra Reddy, had said that if they did not report to their assigned schools, they would be disciplined.

He stressed that if they did not report to work for five consecutive days they were deemed to have resigned.

Their last day is today and if they still do not turn up, the seven-day decree will apply to them.

Divisional education officer central Serupepeli Udre said teachers knew about the seven-day decree and they knew that today was their last day.

QVS deputy principal Osea Koli could not be contacted yesterday for a comment.

These teachers wanted classes at QVS for senior students. But the Education Minister had closed the school and said it was in bad shape.

“Labs have been destroyed badly hence science classes cannot be conducted,” Mr Reddy had said.

The QVS Old Boys have maintained their stand that exam classes should go back to QVS.

Its president said the facilities left standing at QVS could cater for students in exam classes.
