Former Flying Fijian Centre, Rabeni Passes Away

Former Flying Fijians and hard hitting centre Seru Rabeni has passed away.  This was confirmed by a close family member this morning.

The Nasolo, Bua native is survived by his wife Noame and two boys, Josh and Seru Junior.

On the rugby paddock, Rabeni will be remembered for his hard hitting tackles and strength on attack whenever Fiji had possession.

He first began his rugby career at Ratu Kadavulevu School before joining Lautoka Rugby Union while attending the Lautoka Teachers College.

He made his debut for Fiji in Dubai in 1998.  In 2004 Rabeni played for the Pacific Islanders team. He also represented Fiji in the 2003 and 2007 Rugby World Cup.
