Two Separate Incidences Of Abduction In Suva

Two men have been charged with a count each of abduction after they were found to have abducted two teenage girls in Suva.

The two men ages 18 years and 19 years abducted the two students both ages 14 years at separate incidents in Suva.

The men have been charged with a count each of abduction and have been produced at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.

Police have also warned that keeping a child (below the age of 18 years) under ones custody or without the legal consent of their parents is an offence.

Those caught doing so will be dealt with accordingly.

Police are also reminding teenagers who run away from home and reside at a friends’s place  without the consent of their parent to refrain from doing so.

This is an offence and an act of  abduction. The adult that is keeping them can be charged, Police said.
