Loss Hard To Accept: Dad

The father of the 14-year-old girl whose body was discovered at Loloma Beach in Pacific Harbour on Monday afternoon has finally spoken.
Kameli Vosamacedru’s oldest child, Mere Ailevu, was brutally murdered, and later found on Monday at Loloma Beach after being reported missing from home on Sunday night.
Mr Vosamacedru, an employee at the Coral Coast Christian Camp in Deuba is still trying to come to terms with the loss.
Police have already determined Mere was brutally raped, sodomised and killed.
Mr Vosamacedru said after the unsuccessful search for Mere on Sunday night, he never once thought her life would be claimed in one of those terrible circumstances.
“We both thought that she was sleeping at another house and we never thought anything of this nature would happen,” a distraught Mr Vosamacedru said.
A devoted Christian, he said: “It has been hard for me and the family to accept the loss of our daughter.”
He is urging parents to ensure that their children were under supervision at all times.
Mere’s grandmother, Alisi Draunivesi said: “It has been a very hard time for our family.
“The person who has done this to my grand-daughter has no pity at all. They should always remember that they have sisters and a mother, who they will not want any of these things to happen to them.”
Mere will be laid to rest at Pacific Harbour today.
