The Then India Sanmarga Ikya Sangam in Labasa donated school stationery at South Taveuni Primary School which was badly battered by Cyclone Winston.

The school was visited by Labasa TISI Sangam executives last weekend.

National vice president Rama said they donated 400 stationery packs to the school which had suffered extreme damage.

“The donation has put a smile on the faces of hundreds of students in Taveuni who lost everything during Cyclone Winston,” Mr Rama said.

He said schools in Taveuni were severely damaged with large scale destruction to classrooms and furniture, computer labs, science labs, staffroom, administrative offices and other facilities.

Mr Rama said organisations and the public should come forward and help the affected people; he also thanked CDP and Goundar Shipping for delivering the donations to Taveuni free.

Meanwhile, TISI Sangam also donated cartons of clothes and rice to affected areas as well. They also plan to donate anther 300 packs to the school.
