Fiji Hotel And Tourism Association Members Boost PM’s Relief Fund More

A delegation from the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association (FHTA) presented $122,000 to the Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama. The FHTA delegation was led by President Dixon Seeto.
Mr. Seeto said: “Many Association properties contributed to local communities via cash or kind immediately after Tropical Cyclone Winston. Members coordinated with each other to source and transport humanitarian relief supplies all over the country.”
He added many properties and members were also sent relief supplies from their guests and requested that these be sent to areas of need.
“Some members contributed directly to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Rehabilitation Fund,”Mr. Seeto said.
The Prime Minister in accepting the cheque thanked the membership of the Association.
He stated that the level of devastation was unprecedented but he was touched and encouraged that Fijians were assisting Fijians at all levels. He also thanked and acknowledged guests who have contributed via members.
The President and Directors of the Association would like to thank all those who reached deep into their pockets and hearts to help those affected by Tropical Cyclone Winston.
They acknowledged members who contributed to this appeal in addition to what they have already contributed in cash and kind.
