‘No More Red Cards’

The Telecom Fijian Warriors have named a strong line-up to take on Samoa A in the final of the World Rugby Pacific Challenge at the ANZ Stadium, Suva tomorrow.
Warriors coach, Senirusi Seruvakula said if they want to remain unbeaten they need to play with patience and remain composed on the field.
“We have been saying this from the start about how we need to work on our discipline and getting a red card in two games is not something we are happy about,” Seruvakula said.
“Our focus from the start of our preparation for this competition is to win it and in order to do that we need to cut down on our mistakes. With the red card that was given, players tend to lose their concentration in the heat of the moment and especially under pressure but it should never have happened.”
With Samoa A, improving in each game, Seruvakula is expecting a tough and physical encounter and players need to be focused from the opening whistle.
“Sometimes the players are not focused on what we are trying to do for the full 80 minutes so we have to concentrate from the word go. We cannot afford to play catch up rugby we cannot expect to do that against Samoa because they have been improving as they go on.
“It will be tough on Monday so we will need to prepare well.”
The Telecom Fijian Warriors will play Samoa A at 6pm while Junior Japan will face Tonga A for third and fourth position playoffs at 3pm.
