Schools Netball Gets Underway

The Suva Primary Schools Netball competition got underway despite several schools not turning up as they prepare for today’s Palm Sunday.
Association vice-president Loraini Ravoka said some schools informed them of their absence.
Ravoka added that despite this the first round of competition went well.
“The competition between the schools was great and we had a good crowd. We even had some of our brothers from the Suva Primary Schools rugby and the support from parents was overwhelming.”
Younger grades
Ravoka said the performance of the youngest netters in the competition was outstanding and has improved throughout the years.
“The under nine and ten netters played even though this is their first time in the competition. I must say they were trained well by their coaches. The games will take a break next week because of the Easter holidays and will continue the week after with all 17 schools scheduled to take part,” she said.
