The State of Emergency declaration for Fiji may be continued after a review as the 30-day period ends today.

This will be confirmed by the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO).

Minister for Health and Medical Services, Jone Usamate during his visit to Vanuabalavu Island in Lau last Friday said: “From the Health Ministry side, we are now focusing on public health. This is in ensuring the safety and health of the Fijian people and at the same time provide social physiological support for those who experienced the wrath of TC Winston,” Mr Usamate said.

“There has been a lot of progress happening on the ground and we acknowledge everyone who has contributed to the rebuilding of our country,” he said. Edited by Paula Tuvuki
