The Fire rugby team received a major boost ahead of the Suva Rugby Union’s Escott Shield competition when they received their new set of jersey last Friday. This was made possible through a donation by Ranjit Garments (Manufacturing) Limited. The jerseys were handed over to the Fire rugby team manager Jioji Duikoro by RG Direct sales manager, Jennifer Mesulame.

“The morale of the players is high after receiving the set of jersey as we are looking forward to the competition,” he said.

“This is one of the major competitions that we all look forward to every year and we will be proud to wear our new jersey on the field.”

Duikoro thanked Ranjit Garments for their support.

“This kind contribution has motivated the players and we are optimistic that Fire will do well this year. Last year we lost in the quarterfinals but that experience has made us stronger and gave us the impetus for an improved performance this year.  Our training has started for the competition and we will do our best.”

He said they have a squad of talented players you are committed to their training programme.

“We are improving and are confident of a good performance this year,” Duikoro added.
