Damodar Group Reveals Major Development Plan For Raiwaqa

The Damodar Group has started works on its masterplan for its Raiwaqa property development.
Damodar Group chief executive, Div Damodar, confirmed plans for an integrated retail and tourism development.
He said for this development, they are looking at tapping into different areas of the economy from tourism to different lifestyles of dining and exploring what are some new avenues for Fiji.
“Our focus is also going in designing and a brand name for the project,” he said.
Mr Damodar further confirmed they are looking at launching the whole project in three months.
“The other aspect that we are really focussing on is that we are targeting locals such as contractors, architects and other roll-on effect for the local economy.
“That is something I believe in very strongly, and the company, and lots of jobs will be given to locals and local companies will be given contracts.”
The amount to be invested will be revealed during the launch of the project.
But if one is to compare the extent of this project with Damodar City, then Damodar City is built on three acres of land and the Raiwaqa property is 21 acres.
Damodar City was a $30 million investment for the Damodar Group.
The Damodar Group acquired the Raiwaqa Property from Golden Century Company the past year.
