The late Mere Ailevu who was brutally murdered in Deuba.

There has been no fresh developments as Police hunt for suspects after the discovery of a 14-year-old girl’s body at Loloma Beach in Pacific Harbour last Monday.

Police Chief of Intelligence and Investigation Senior Superintendent of Police Luke Navela last night said they were still investigating and five people have already been questioned and released.

Mere Ailevu was reported missing from her home last Sunday. The Year 7 student of Lomary Catholic Primary School was found half naked, dead with a Tee- shirt tied around her neck at Loloma Beach.

She had been raped and murdered.

SSP Navela is requesting anyone with any information regarding the murder to come forward to assist the Police with their investigation. The suspects who were questioned were from the same area where Mere lived.

However, there has been no arrest made. 25 Police officers and the Police Dog Unit officers are working long hours in the investigation.
