Help Get Justice For Mere
14 year-old Mere Ailevu

Last Sunday was Palm Sunday. 14-year-old Mere Ailevu, who was brutally raped and murdered, had been practicing to be part of Palm Sunday celebrations.

She could not.

She was killed in cold blood, murdered by someone who clearly does not think that human life is worth anything.

An arrest is yet to be made in this horrific crime.

The Fiji Police Force is working around the clock trying to find evidence before any arrest is made.

And, to do this, they need your help.

They need your help to bring  whoever murdered this child to justice.

Police Chief Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho is calling out to members of public to come forward with any information, no matter how small it is.

A young girl who had her entire life ahead of her is dead.

You can help bring whoever is responsible for this to justice.

You can play a part in solving this chilling crime.

Commissioner Qiliho has given out his personal number and urged people with information to call him on 9906-989 or his Chief Intelligence Officer Luke Navela. Those wishing to remain anonymous can also call through the Crime Stoppers hotline of 917.

Now is the time for anyone with any information to come forward.

By coming forward you will not only help Police but help a mother get closure.

You will assist a community to sleep peacefully at night.

Mere’s classmates are having sleepless nights.

This horrific crime was committed at a popular picnic spot where families gather to have a good time.

This spot will now forever be marred.

Children will no longer feel safe taking a walk in this area.

But all this can change, and you can be the reason for this.

Please come forward with any information you may have.

You may not think that what you know is of significance but it just may be what Police need to solve this crime.

Do the right thing.
