Ana Rabuka is the founder of the event called ‘Project Taveuni’.

In a bid to help the many families in Taveuni affected by Cyclone Winston a group of fashion designers are planning a show to raise funds.

The event ‘Project Taveuni’ will feature top designers like Rosie Semisi, Hupfeld Hoerder, Moira Solvalu, Robert Kennedy, Michael Mausio and Aisea Konrote.

Founder Ana Rabuka, a fashion designer by profession and a Taveuni native herself, said: “With ‘Project Taveuni’ we are campaigning to provide extra help for children and families in Taveuni who have lost everything because of Cyclone Winston.

“I chose to host this charity event in a form of a fashion show as this is my field of talent. I know that I have a great network of people who share the same passion of fashion with who will openheartedly come forward to lend a helping hand for a worthy cause.”

The event today is supported by Tanoa Skylodge, South Pacific Recording, Tanoa Bilo Lounge Café, Yaqara Butcher, Captain Cook Cruises, Fair Deal Engineers, and Manta Ray Island Resort.

The show is scheduled for 7.30pm to 9.30pm onwards with a lively programme confirmed at the Tanoa Skylodge Hotel in Nadi.

They are now looking forward to a fabulous evening of fundraising involving top local designers coming together to stage a grand show with their amazing individual collections to showcase.

Ms Rabuka will also showcase two new collections – kid’s wear and resort wear collections.

“We have some great entertainments for the night, some great prizes to auction, exciting raffle prizes, so it will be a great evening,” she said.

“Ever since the day Cyclone Winston hit I’ve been finding it hard to hold back my emotions as how thousands of families are living; majority with nothing to live on. Even my very own island home Taveuni,” she said.
