Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama on Thursday granted a four-wheel drive vehicle to be used for civil servants in Nadarivatu.

Mr Bainimarama granted the request and told one of his aides Vilikesa Waqatairewa to make arrangements with the Ministry of Finance for the vehicle to be assigned for the area as soon as possible.

The request was made by the Roko Tui Colo Joji Banuve at the Nadarivatu Primary School where Mr Bainimarama met with the civil servants in the area.

Mr Banuve informed Mr Bainimarama that it was very difficult for civil servants to carry out their work especially to visit the people.

Mr Banuve said even the Police had no vehicle.

The Nadarivatu Secondary School vice principal, Ms Kiniyaca Vuka also requested for a small truck to be used for school in transportation.

She said the school principal Akapusi Tabua usually made business travels from the school to Rakiraki and also students sometimes required medical treatments.

The Prime Minister said that currently the focus now was rebuilding.

He said for the Ministry of Education, Minister Mahendra Reddy would be responsible for school repairs.

The Prime Minister was told that Mr Reddy had already visited the school and inspected the cyclone damages. Edited by Rusiate Mataika
