Police recorded 556 traffic offences were during their Easter weekend operation, says Police director traffic, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Mahesh Mishra.

Out of these 556 offences, speeding topped the list yet again with 424 cases.

SSP Mishra said this was still their area of focus as speeding remained the main cause of deaths on our roads.

“It is still a concern for us that drivers are still taking chances. They need to take safety into their hearts,” he said.

SSP Mishra said their goal had been for a zero-fatality Easter and he was glad they were able to achieve it.

He however requested members of the public to report any misbehaviour by motorists on our roads following the traffic offences recorded by his officers on the ground.
