We’re Ready to Roll: Goundar

The country’s biggest ferry MV Lomaiviti Princess III is to start servicing the Natovi-Nabouwalu route, in May.

This was confirmed yesterday by Goundar Shipping Limited’s managing director George Goundar after the arrival of MV Lomaviti Princess from Auckland, New Zealand.

This is the first time for two shipping companies to service the Natovi-Nabouwalu route.

This route has only being serviced by Patterson Brothers Shipping Company Limited, for over three decades.

The route is the shortest link between the country’s Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.

“The MV Lomaiviti Princess and MV Lomaiviti Princess III will soon resume their normal services to their respective routes,” he said.

“For our MV Lomaiviti Princess III we are looking to start the Natovi-Nabouwalu services in May.”

In an earlier interview Mr Goundar said the MV Lomaiviti Princess is going to continue servicing the Suva-Savusavu-Taveuni and the Suva-Kadavu routes as well.

Mr Goundar continued, “Our MV Lomaiviti Princess has arrived on Monday after undergoing its annual underwater survey in New Zealand and it will resume its normal service by Thursday.”
