The Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League’s Lautoka/Nadi zone is still open.

Development officer Lagilagi Golea said after yesterday’s clash at Nadovu Park, Lautoka the qualifiers for the Under-15 and U17 grades for the national playoffs would be decided next week Tuesday.

In the first showdown Ratu Navula College U15 side edged out Ba Provincial Freebird Institute 12-6 and they did it again in the U17 clash winning 12-8.

Lagilagi said for U15, the decider will be between Ratu Navula College and Natabua High School as they have recorded a win each while in the U17, Ratu Navula College have the upper hand over Natabua High School.

“But the winner is definitely going to go through,” he said.

“The wet ground condition at Nadovu Park did not dampen the players’ spirits as they played their hearts out.”

Lagilagi said he was impressed with the size and speed of the Ratu Navula College teams.

“I’ve been helping them out and once they adapt to the way rugby league is played they are going to be a tough team to beat,” he added.
